About the Business Equity Initiative for Diverse Developers

This Initiative is geared toward diverse developers that the City of Boston has selected for its Welcome Home, Boston program. The program was created to fast track the production of new affordable homes and make homeownership opportunities more accessible for city residents.

How the Business Equity Initiative for Diverse Developers Works
When City of Boston officials select developers for Welcome Home, Boston, they refer those developers to our program. Developers then complete an initial intake and interview with our core team members, who work with them before making introductions to additional strategic advisory and pre-development financing.

Throughout the program, Nectar deploys strategic advisors based on the needs of the enrolled developers. The length of time and service varies depending on those needs and the project stage — our engagement could last between 2 and 12 months. The strategic advisor will be part of a dedicated team for these developers, alongside other advisors and staff. This multidisciplinary team will help developers progress their projects from pre-development through construction, all while strengthening their core business.
