Our name might be new, but our history of helping our neighbors goes back to 2008. Nectar was established in 2022 through the merger of legacy organizations Mill Cities Community Investments (founded in 2008) and the Foundation for Business Equity (founded in 2017). We’re rooted in the mission of both organizations, always with an eye on innovation.
About us
We’re a community development financial institution (CDFI) and Community Development Corporation (CDC) dedicated to growing the assets and wealth of historically disinvested individuals and their communities. Our capital offerings, robust advice, resourced networks and advocacy bridge the capital access gap for homeowners and small business owners.
Our impact
Whether it’s investing in the impact of local businesses or driving environmental justice in underserved neighborhoods, we’re constantly innovating to build generational wealth.
Our People
Every day, our staff and board of directors work to create a positive impact that directly improves lives and strengthens our communities. Working together, this dedicated team is helping to lead the economic rights movement.
Funders
We’re grateful to our funders and financing capital partners for making our work possible. Their belief in our mission and vision is essential to the work we do.
