Alex oversees Nectar’s operational functions and provides leadership in developing and implementing the organization’s growth strategy. Before joining Nectar, she served as the Deputy Director for the Lawrence Partnership, a public/private collaboration committed to fostering economic development in Lawrence. She has a marketing and events management background and has worked with some of the Commonwealth’s leading corporations, including State Street, Wellington Management and Eastern Bank. Before her corporate experience, Alex worked in Lawrence as a program manager with Family Services Inc., and as the Latino Medical Support and Family Case Manager at Fidelity House, Inc.
Previously, Alex was a member of the board of trustees for Esperanza Academy, a tuition-free, independent middle school for girls from Lawrence. She was also a Women’s Fund of Essex County Advisory Board member. As a member of the Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund Advisory Council, she represented the Merrimack Valley region, sharing her experience and perspective to help ensure that funding was distributed to the region’s most vulnerable population. She served as a steering committee member for the Boston Federal Reserve Bank Working Cities Challenge Advance Leadership Development Collaborative.
Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Florida International University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from Tufts University’s Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life. Alex is also a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston Center for Collaborative Leadership Emerging Leaders program and the Inroads Cultural Inclusion Program for Nonprofit Board Governance.
