New name, same purpose
Our name might be new, but our history of helping our neighbors goes back to 2008. Nectar was established in 2022 through the merger of legacy organizations Mill Cities Community Investments (founded in 2008) and the Foundation for Business Equity (founded in 2017). And we continuously innovate, evaluate, and refine our offerings to meet our communities’ needs.

Through loans, investments, strategic advice and advocacy for small businesses and homeowners in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, we’re building generational wealth to close the racial wealth gap.
